One day Delfina wanted to treat her grandchildren to a movie. Her son Louis went ahead to pay for the children, and as he was walking back to the car where his wife Amanda and his mother sat waiting for him to return.
Suddenly they heard the most horrible sound, Louis turned around and saw his son Billy lying lifeless on the street.
Billy did not want to stay with the other children. He had always been very shy. He would hide under the bed every time someone would come to visit, as soon as he got comfortable he would slowly come out and tell the visitors "Te dejo ver esto, si me das un nicle" (I will let you see this, if you give me a nickle) It was usually a toy or whatever he could find.
Billy flew up in the air after the car hit him, Louis that he was dead. Teresita (my mother) remembers her father walking back into the dark theater looking for them to tell them the news.
Billy lay unconscious for three days. On the fourth night, Teresita, woke up in the middle of the night to find Billy standing in his crib smiling at her.
